11th July- Needle felt a Hare
This workshop will run from 11am to 5pm with a break for lunch when we get too hungry to carry on!
Workshop cost is £25 and I can provide suitable wool at an extra cost of £8 including postage (UK only). I will need a minimum of 4 participants to run the workshop.
You will need wool fibre, 36 gauge needle felting needles and a foam block/brush/rice bag to work on and scissors, I can advise where to get these. This is an involved project and you are more likely to finish your hare if you have some previous needle felting experience. I will be making a hare alongside you and make sure you have all the information to finish in case we run out of time!
To book a place email me email@example.com and I can give you my payment details, either Paypal or BACs.
28th June 2pm- Needle felt a quirky bird
This is a 4/5 hour workshop and is suitable for all, but better if you have some needle felting experience, be prepared to sit and work for a while!
The workshop costs £20 and will need a minimum of 5 participants to run. I am happy to post wool and wire (UK only) at an extra cost of £10 and can advise where to buy needle felting needles if required.
I will be talking you through making a simple wire armature and I will making a bird alongside you.
I recommend any wool with substance, I use British wool fibre; Jacob, Southdown, Shetland, Blue faced Leicester and Cambrian Mountain…I find merino too fine for needle felting.
The workshop will be via Zoom or Jitsi.org.
You can book a place by emailing me ruthpackham.gmail.com and pay with paypal or Bacs, details on enquiry.

Here are some of the workshops I have given over the years to offer you a flavour of just what is possible…these are needle felt and wet felt workshops with a few involving both techniques:
Times have changed so much this year and as I am currently not able to give face to face workshops, I am offering online workshops. This has been a learning curve for me, as with the rest of the world, and after a 3 classes I think I have it sussed!
These workshops vary from 2 to 4 hrs and cost £10 or £20 per workshop and you can order materials from me at an extra cost which I am able to post, UK only in plenty of time.
*please note you will need to provide your own needles
I have found Jitsi a good platform for holding the workshops, it is free and safe and you will just need to have an good internet connection and an updated browser (google chrome) to use it successfully.
I tend to schedule the workshops in the afternoon in order to make them globally accessible.
I will be offering specific dates for group workshops but if you would like a one to one session, maybe there is a particular part of the process you would like to work through, I am happy to do this, this will be worked out at £10 per hour for my time. Similarly if you would like to gather a group together, something different to do online with your friends…makes a change from a quiz, then don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can discuss content and price, either contact me here or to email@example.com
If you don’t fancy a workshop but would like to have a go at needle felting I have a number of kits with all you need to make your creature and you can buy them here,
