I started painting at the beginning of the UK lockdown, after a kind supporter gave me some money to do a painting for him. I had a few canvasses lying around and some acrylic paint from other projects and so I got started.
I have been photographing flora for many years and have always been fascinated by macro images of plants and cells. I also suffer from mild trypophobia, an aversion to clusters in my case, and there seems to be an element of working through this with what I have been painting.
I would like 10 paintings I am happy with and I am almost there with these. Each one takes many hours, bringing out an obsessive side to my creativity which I always suspected was there! Here they are displayed in order of making.
